AdLife Calorie Burn

Tracking your aerobic energy use can be used to make sure your energy intake is sufficient enough to supply the energy you need for your training.

It can also be used to help you obtain your optimum weight for your sports performance.

At different times of the year you have different levels of training effort.

These feedback tools will provide information that you can use to balance your dietary intake to maintain your optimum sports performance weight.

During the day you burn energy and to match this expenditure and maintain your weight you consume energy, ie food and drink.

We call this your Daily Calorie Burn and it includes 3 elements:

  • Base Metabolic Rate: The energy used to maintain your bodily systems.
  • Thermic effect of diet: Energy used to eat, digest and store the energy of the food.
  • General day to day activity: The energy used by your skeletal muscles as you do your daily tasks.

The energy you expend in your aerobic exercise activity lifts the total energy (calories) you expend in the day.

We call this your AdLife Calorie Burn.

Your Workout Journal calculates and shows your AdLife Calorie Burn based on the intensity and duration of each aerobic session.

AdLife Metabolic Boost

Your AdLife Boost is calculated as the month progresses.

  • It totals your AdLife Calorie Burn needs as at the time of month it is viewed.
  • It totals your Daily Calorie Burn as at the time of month it is viewed.

It then charts this comparison as a percentage.

An example for a day would be:

  • Your AdLife Calorie Burn might be 500 calories (i.e. your burn from your aerobic session)
  • Your Daily Calorie Burn (i.e. Your calorie burn to balance energy in/energy out excluding your aerobic session) might 2,000.

This would mean your AdLife Boost for the day would be 500/2,000 = 25%.

Your AdLife Boost can be used as a guide to obtain your optimum body weight for sport as explained within the System.
